The Last

Great Video Store

In the summer of 2018, I went looking for the Last Great Video Store in Los Angeles, but my journey to find what we lost when we said goodbye to video store culture has taken me further than I could’ve ever imagined then.

From the TEDx stage to THE LAST BLOCKBUSTER to curating THE list of all remaining video stores in the world, my work around video stores has connected me with some of the warmest, most intelligent film fans around the globe -I keep the NOW RENTING sign lit just for them.

The Last Blockbuster

Watch Kate in Taylor Morden’s THE LAST BLOCKBUSTER, a thoughtful look at America’s most ubiquitous video store chain and a love letter to video store operators, employees and renters everywhere.

My journey to find the last great video store began with one movie, FRESH HORSES. A new 35mm print of FRESH HORSES was struck for the LACMA screening stemming from In Search of the Last Great Video Store - because of this, you can now watch and rent a restored version of FRESH HORSES on a streaming platform near you.
